Rubix wins Seenit’s Storyteller of the Year Award 2020

Meet Rubix

Born from a merger between IPH and Brammer, Rubix is now Europe’s largest supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services. Operating in 22+ markets, Rubix employs over 8000 people and is transforming the delivery of industrial products and solutions across Europe.

Rubix’s success story

Peter Tilley, Communications Director and winner of Seenit’s Storyteller of the Year 2020 award, has been using Seenit at Rubix for over 18 months. During this time, he has produced a huge variety of videos, from internal CEO communications to external-facing YouTube channels that give brilliant insights into life at the company.

“None of us are experts but the support that we had from Seenit has allowed us to create very effective User-Generated Video content that has made a massive difference to the quality of our communications and most importantly to the effectiveness of our storytelling.”

Peter Tilly, Communications Director at Rubix

Rubix uses Seenit primarily for internal communications, creating videos that keep the geographically dispersed company informed and up to date on a business level, as well as on a human level. As they continue to acquire small manufacturing companies across Europe, video offers an excellent opportunity to keep employees ‘in the loop’ with such major news, which is critical information for some business functions, such as sales.

Stats from their first 18 months with Seenit:

1150 video uploads

from 150 employees

in 104 different locations

To really scale and humanise their video production, Peter has turned Rubix employees across Europe into storytellers and content creators by leveraging User-Generated Video to its maximum potential. One great example of this is Peter’s “Day in the Life of a Volunteer Police Officer” with Rubix employee, Kahn. Peter wrote a fantastic shot list, coached Kahn beautifully through the whole production and edited the content himself on the Seenit platform.

“Kahn’s video still holds the record for the most number of comments of any video that we’ve published internally. This one really marked a turning point for our approach to employee communications. It showed the results that you get when you give the power to people to tell their stories and the tools to do it effectively.”

Peter Tilly, Communications Director at Rubix
